About Styledex
Styledex is an index of design styles from permissively licensed open-source projects. You filter by the product you are building, compare styles on one shared specimen, and hand tokens or a prompt to a coding agent through a local MCP server.
Licenses
- Code in this repository is MIT.
- Our tags, taxonomy, and normalized structure are CC-BY-4.0. Credit Styledex if you reuse them.
- Upstream tokens and prompts keep their own licenses. Every style page and export names the holder, repository, path, and commit.
- Brand-inspired entries such as “Apple style” are hidden until you ask for them, and they are marked as unofficial.
Agent access
The HTTP API is anonymous and free. The MCP package calls it on demand and caches responses in ~/.cache/styledex. There is no API key.
